What does the
Homeowners' Association do?
Here are some of the things:
-
Maintain the grounds (cutting the grass, trimming the
shrubbery) and common areas (pool, entranceways, etc.)
-
Provide termite control on the outside of the
buildings
-
The Homeowners's Association no longer pays for any
cable services. (Until the summer of 2009, the HOA did pay for basic
cable TV from Brighthouse.)
-
Maintains the contract for trash/garbage
pickups. Presently there are two garbage pickups each week,
Monday and Thursday. On Thursday the service will also pick up
the recycle bin.
-
Maintains the contract for pool services.
Presently our pool is serviced three times a week. (Did you
know that we have a heated swimming pool?!)
-
Pays the electricity used by the street lights on the
property, plus bills for watering the common area.
What does the Homeowner's Association NOT provide?
- Homeowners are responsible for all utilities, including phone,
electric, cable and water (sewer is added to the homeowner's water bill)
- Homeowners are responsible for pest control inside their units.
- Homeowners are responsible for insuring their unit from the garage
floor up to and including the roof with a "Homeowner's 3 policy" [HO-3].
